Abraham and Sarah

I have shared with you the making of a wife and what a noble wife is. There is so much more information about being a wife and what God has planned for us as wife's and what he wants from our husband's. If you want more information about any of that please let me know and I will be happy to share with you what I have studied and where to find it.
Today I want to start Abraham and Sarah's story. God did amazing things for Abraham and Sarah.
Genesis 15 tells the beginning of the story for Abram and Sarai. In this chapter Abram cries out to the Lord, asking him what good all of his blessings are if he had no heir to pass his household and wealth onto. After Abram cried out to the Lord, the Lord responded that he would have many descendants and Abram's servants would not inherit Abram's wealth and household.
Genesis 15:6
Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.
Bible Notes:
Just when Abram was despairing of ever having an heir, God promised descendants too numerous to imagine. Gods blessings are beyond our imagination.
Genesis 17:1-2
When Abram was ninety nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, " I am El-Shaddai- God Almighty. Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.
In these verses God has promised Abram and Sarai a heir to their household and wealth. Even though they are older in age God is still planning on blessing them with children. There is a condition to this blessing, Abram has to live his life faithfully to God. All God wants from us is to live our lives for him, to follow the things that he has laid out for us. He knows that we are not perfect and that is ok with him, he loves us any ways and wants us to have all the blessings that he has planned for us.
Through the first part of chapter 17 of Genesis God promises many times that Abram will be blessed with descendants. God states that these descendants will become many nations, and kings will be among them. ( Genesis 17:7)
After promising Abram that he would give him descendants the Lord changed his name to Abraham and then continued on to change Sarai's name to Sarah.
Genesis 17:16
And I will bless her and give you a son from her! Yes I will bless her richly, and she will become the mother of many nations, Kings of nations will be among her descendants.
Now keep in mind that at this time Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90. If you think about how we live today, can you imagine being told at 90 years old that you are going to become pregnant to many children? Abraham had a hard time believing that God would grant him and Sarah this blessing because of their age. He asked the Lord to bless someone else in his place. Here was God's answer to Abraham's request:
Genesis 17:19
But God replied, " No - Sarah, your wife, will give birth to a son for you. You will name him Isaac, and I will confirm my covenant with him and his descendants as an everlasting covenant.
Here again God promises Abraham and Sarah that they will have a son.
As you read the story of Abraham and Sarah it is amazing to see the things that God can and will do. I will share the rest of this story through out the next couple of days.
Remember that even though we suffer everyday with PCOS God wants us to have children. He wants us to be fruitful, and when it is his time he will make those dreams come true. It may not be in the way that we want it to happen and it may not be in the time that we want it, but it will happen. Trusting and believing in him and living your life for and through him will give God the grounds that he needs to give you the blessings he has laid out for you. Even through this path is hard, and we want things to happen right now, and the way we think they should happen God hears our cries and he knows our hearts. He will fill the wants and the needs of our hearts and deepest wishes. We just have to trust him to do it his way and in his time. We have to believe that he will make this happen for us someday.
When we live our lives with only half beliefs or only some what trusting that God will make things happen it closes the door to God. He cant come in and bless us with everything he has laid out if we have our foot on the back of the door holding it half way closed. Open the door wide, give God the chance to walk through those doors with all of the gifts and blessing's he has for you. Give your full trust to him, trust that he will give you everything that your heart desires.
God Bless you all,
Tabitha
